Shannon Horel

Yoga Teacher

Shannon’s yoga journey began in 2015, when she was encouraged by a friend to
accompany her to some local classes offered in Kansas City, Missouri. Growing up as a
dancer, while she found some similarities to dance, yoga offered the freedom of
movement and non-judgement that she hadn’t experienced as a dancer. She was also
intrigued by the philosophical and spiritual aspects of yoga. She had moved away from
traditional religion, but still sought spiritual guidance in her daily life, and noticed that
yoga was drawing her in.

She practiced for about 10 years, incorporating a daily practice in 2020. Yoga brought
focus, calm, internal awareness, physical strength and resilience, and self-reflection into
her daily life. Realizing her aspiration to share this with others, she enrolled in YTT,
training under Lauren Leduc, and graduated in 2025. She is continuing her teacher
training journey in 2026 through the True Love Yoga 300-hour program.

In class, she aims to offer a challenging and fun flow, with opportunity for self-reflection
and personal growth. Shannon encourages students to observe their body and mind
and to find joy in the practice. She is passionate about sharing this practice with others
at all stages of their journey, and welcomes you to class.

Yoga has had such a significant impact on Shannon’s life and is her favorite way to
spend her time. Outside of the studio, you can also find her spending time with her
family, reading, camping, biking, and exploring the beautiful world we live in.

Savanna Smith

Yoga Teacher

For most of her adult life, Savanna has worked as a cosmetology instructor and Top Trainer for Paul Mitchell while simultaneously practicing yoga as a student. She always dreamed of becoming a yoga teacher when she retired from her first career, but after a serious health scare left her viewing the world with a different perspective, she knew something had to change. She decided to combine her two passions and enter True Love Yoga’s YTT program in early 2024, Training under Lauren Leduc, Melody Butler, and Caci Moore.

Savanna believes in the inclusivity of yoga and is passionate about honoring the journey of each individual she has the opportunity to hold space for. All humans are welcomeWhen she’s off her mat, you can find Savanna enjoying other avenues of wellness and of mindful movement like dance, the sauna, cycling, and playing outside. She’s a lover of live music, intentional travel, clean eating, and reading as many books as she can get her hands on.
